The best days are often the ones, not planned, that just unfold. A friend suggested a beach walk this morning, so off we set. The weather was pleasant so we decided to head for the Seaview marina. Once there, we were enjoying the walk so much we decided to head for Eastbourne and catch a bus home. We ended up at Days Bay and had a coffee and very nice vegetable frittata at The Pavillion in Williams Park. We walked across the road to the bus stop but there was the ferry, so jumped on that instead. We had a lovely trip into Wellington, via a stop at Sommes Island. This summer I intend to spend some time on Sommes, but not today. Instead we went to Foxglove on the waterfront and enjoyed the view and a glass of wine. A bus from Lambton Quay and home exactly five hours after setting out - an excellent day!
